Liandren Brown

RYT 200

Liandren first practiced yoga in 2004. As a collegiate athlete, playing volleyball for the University of Washington, she was looking for a healthy balance of physical work and calmness of mind. Her life at the time was hectic and challenging with no ease. Liandren then began practicing Hatha, Bikram and Power Vinyasa with different Master Teachers in the Seattle area. She found that Baptiste Vinyasa yoga offered her a chance to work both physically and mentally.

Liandren was so inspired from her developing Baptiste practice that she started on a powerful and inspiring journey to self-discovery and awareness through a daily practice of yoga. Liandren has trained under Baron Baptiste for 3 years and currently holds 1000 hours of teaching experience. She creates a flow for students that allow them to experience the power of yoga as it has changed her life. Her classes are physical and yet playful. The connections built from her surrounding yoga community, will forever empower her existence as a teacher. Baptiste Vinyasa has been a transformative practice that ignites her personal growth on and off the mat. Every time Liandren steps in the room to teach it is a new experience and a new personal journey for her students. She teaches yoga so her students can unleash power and confidence from within and take that home and into the world.

Rachel Burklund

RYT 200

Rachel has taught consciousness meditation to a small group since 2008 and this passion for stillness and inner peace led her to become a yoga teacher. Rachel believes that the way to heal is to go within oneself and yoga and meditation are powerful vehicles for us to connect to our greatest potential. In Rachel’s classes you will have the opportunity to grow physically as well as emotionally and spiritually. She has a vision to help people tap into their highest awareness.

Rachel has practiced various styles of yoga since 1999, however in 2014 she came to yoga for a different reason. Yoga was a calling for her to physically heal from an injury and to emotionally heal in a time of extreme challenge. From that point forward yoga took a new direction, it became a way of life. She received her 200-hour Teacher Training certification in December 2015 through Shakti Vinyasa Yoga and in April 2016 she also completed their Teacher Mentorship Program.

Rachel is also a jewelry designer, a mother and she is originally for the Seattle area.

Betsey Strater

RYT 200

Betsey had picked yoga up and put it back down several times before she was invited to attend the Shakti Yoga Retreat in 2012. From that week on, she was hooked. Betsey found that her mind and body were transformed by the practice of Baptiste Yoga and was empowered by the support of the Shakti community. When she returned, Betsey jumped into the Shakti and Baptiste communities immediately. Betsey has since studied with Baron Baptiste and completed Foundations in Action, Level One, Art of Assisting, and Advanced Art of Assisting. In 2014, Betsey completed her 200 hour Teaching Certification through Shakti as well as the Teacher Mentorship Program. Betsey is also a certified Kid’s Yoga teacher.

Betsey teaches and practices yoga to offer the opportunity to be in touch with the beautiful, powerful, and unique energy within us all. Yoga meets you right where you are, in this moment and offers expression, creativity, discipline, presence, connection and stillness. Betsey has found that yoga helps her live more freely and authentically. All that aside, yoga is so much fun! She never misses the opportunity to practice handstand. Betsey creates a space to be challenged by the discipline of the practice but also be light and playful. She is passionate about teaching everybody and every body, supporting them as they discover what is possible through their yoga practice.

Eva Lasprogata

RYT 200

Eva began her yoga practice in 2005 after many years of dance training, weight lifting and gym group exercise. She has been a professor of law, human rights and corporate citizenship for over a decade at Seattle University where she is tenured in the business school. For Eva, her left brain stress from legal analysis, teaching and writing never found complete release at the gym. Yoga, however, was like magic, offering Eva a form of right brain bliss and inspired creativity. The practice of asana and meditation quickly became a part of her spiritual growth which draws further insight from Marianne Williamson, Don Miguel Ruiz, John O’Donohue and First Nations’ traditions and worldview. Wanting to share her passion for yoga, Eva entered yoga teacher training in 2008. Teaching for Eva is pure joy! Her classes integrate the physical challenge of the Baptiste power vinyasa flow with her shared life experience, humor and compassion to inspire her students to be their most empowered selves both on and off the mat.

Ben Grieshaber

RYT 200

Ben’s love of music and rhythm has sent him around the country performing for crowds some nights and crickets others! Regardless of the circumstance, he has always been grateful for the chance to travel, explore and play. Years of sleeping in vans and on floors, heavy lifting and heavier drumming created a lot of tension in his body. Seeking some relief from the chronic shoulder pain and migraines, he showed up to a power vinyasa yoga class. Shazam! Like magic, he felt the built up tensions in his body melt and begin to fade away. The feeling he got after every class was invigorating and uplifting!

As this practice continued to make shifts in him, the urge to explore further sent him to various workshops with master instructors such as Bryan Kest, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest and Seane Corn, among many others. It was after attending the Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black that he decided he wanted to share this gift with others through the art of instructing. He spent a year studying closely with Lisa Black and many of the SHAKTI team in the Teacher Mentorship Program. Continuing on the path to teaching he has completed Level I training with Baron Baptiste in 2011, The Art of Assisting with BPYI in 2013 and Level II with Baron Baptiste. He holds accreditation with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.

It is Ben’s intention to guide each class with care and attention focused on healthy alignment while allowing the freedom to find your practice and work intelligently at surfing your own personal edge. His hope is to aid in awakening each and every yogi’s inner passion for life and help bring light to the world one shining heart at a time!

Happiness is contagious… pass it on!
These strong, steady-paced classes flow through the complete, traditional Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga sequence. The instructors offer modifications and variations throughout the class so that students of all levels can experience a deep and meaningful practice.
