Intro Series to Baptiste Power Vinyasa

Ben’s love of music and rhythm has sent him around the country performing for crowds some nights and crickets others! Regardless of the circumstance, he has always been grateful for the chance to travel, explore and play. Years of sleeping in vans and on floors, heavy lifting and heavier drumming created a lot of tension in his body. Seeking some relief from the chronic shoulder pain and migraines, he showed up to a power vinyasa yoga class. Shazam! Like magic, he felt the built up tensions in his body melt and begin to fade away. The feeling he got after every class was invigorating and uplifting!
 
As this practice continued to make shifts in him, the urge to explore further sent him to various workshops with master instructors such as Bryan Kest, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest and Seane Corn, among many others. It was after attending the Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black that he decided he wanted to share this gift with others through the art of instructing. He spent a year studying closely with Lisa Black and many of the SHAKTI team in the Teacher Mentorship Program. Continuing on the path to teaching he has completed Level I training with Baron Baptiste in 2011, The Art of Assisting with BPYI in 2013 and Level II with Baron Baptiste. He holds accreditation with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.
 
It is Ben’s intention to guide each class with care and attention focused on healthy alignment while allowing the freedom to find your practice and work intelligently at surfing your own personal edge. His hope is to aid in awakening each and every yogi’s inner passion for life and help bring light to the world one shining heart at a time!

Ariel Williams

Ariel Ray has been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2014 and started practicing in 2012. She started the journey of yoga to lose weight but found a whole new lifestyle, embracing happiness in each moment and the strength to let go of the past. Ariel became a Tier 2: 500 hour Baptiste Certified Teacher in February 2017, after studying with the Baptiste Yoga Institute. Ariel has also completed Shakti Vinyasa Yoga’s Teacher Mentorship Program April 2016. The supportive and encouraging Baptiste Community inspired her to give back through the service of yoga. She also received a BA in Environmental Studies focused in Society and Sustainability from the University of Washington in 2013. Ariel teaches to inspire change and transformation in the body and mind, “Dream, Believe, Succeed”.

Jodi Boone

Jodi feels that yoga is a precious gift and one of the greatest influences in her life. Drawn to sharing yoga with others, she began teaching in 2001. With a background in Iyengar, Vinyasa and Ananda yoga, Jodi integrates teachings from these traditions to create a fluid, creative and meditative practice. She teaches to inspire students to journey inward; nourishing themselves, deepening their intuition and honoring the divine within. She teaches yoga retreats and trainings internationally, and most recently spent six years living in India, where she co-directed Satsanga Retreat. In addition to teaching yoga, Jodi is a doula, massage therapist and student of Ayurveda, currently working toward her certification as an Ayurvedic practitioner.
Level 1: INTRO to Power Vinyasa 8-Class Pre-Register Series (Tues & Thurs) Designed for beginners or students new to Power Vinyasa Yoga. You will learn the basic alignment and form of the 53 postures in 11 series within the 90 minute Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga practice and everyday yoga philosophy and helpful breathing techniques that inspire and empower you on and off your mat. Each class progressively builds on the previous one, preparing most students to move on to Level 2 after completion. Many people enjoy taking Level 1 many times in order to soak up all the information and apply the knowledge to their practice. Demonstration, discussion, personal hands-on adjustments, and guided practice, provide you with a solid foundation of this dynamic style of yoga.
