Level 1.5 Baptiste Power Vinyasa

This class is taught by:

Hannah Losser

RYT 200

Hannah Losser is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up in the mountains, she developed a deep connection and love for the natural world. Hannah earned a biology degree at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. In addition to her science background, she also trained as a modern dancer for many years. She stumbled upon her yoga practice in the same way that many former dancers do: after a series of injuries. Giving up her dreams of a dance career was initially heartbreaking, but yoga was the lifeline that helped her reconnect to herself and her passions.

Hannah moved to Seattle, Washington in 2014. She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Lisa Black through Shakti Vinyasa Yoga. She completed additional training through Shakti Vinyasa Yoga's teacher mentorship program in the Spring of 2015. Hannah continues to train with teachers from varying lineages and backgrounds. Her biggest inspirations are not necessarily the most well known teachers, but the people she meets that are bravely showing up as their most vulnerable and authentic selves. She thinks that being able to learn from and with people from all walks of life is the universe’s greatest blessing.

To Hannah, yoga is about celebration and gratitude. When life becomes stressful or chaotic,
our mat is a place where we can return to remind ourselves of the simple joys that surround us.
Whether it be relationships, movement, food, the mountains, music or the moon, we have countless things to be grateful for. Hannah challenges her students to harness this gratitude as they find balance and ease on their mats. Her classes are powerful and challenging, yet playful and nurturing. She teaches from the idea that when we show up with an open heart, we discover that the possibilities within us and surrounding us are endless.

Dusty Thompson

RYT-500
ERYT-200
RN

Dusty Thompson is on a mission to bring health, healing, and happiness to her students through the practice of yoga. Dusty is a born teacher and writer. As a yoga studio owner, (retired) nurse, health nut (juice and smoothie fanatic) and lover of life - she finds balance, understanding and strength in her yoga practice. She has beat the holy hell out of Cancer, ran two marathons, won many games of thumb wars, read thousands of amazing books, and lives trying to answer the universal questions: Who am I? Why am I here?

Yoga has been a game changer; a constant companion along her journey for over 10 years. Tree House Yoga (her Mid-West Yoga Studio) was manifested in 2013, as her desire to help others find the practice grew. Dusty completed her RYT-200 in 2008 at Cityoga of Indianapolis. Too many teachers to name have influenced and inspired her and she gratefully recognizes that each person in our life is ultimately a teacher. In 2012, she set out on a soul journey and after two years (lots of sweat and tears) she graduated from Rolf Gate’s RYT-500 training in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dusty encourages her students to slow down and search within; teaches them to open up space inside their bodies and gently reminds them to always simply breathe.

Dusty believes that all of life is practice and reminds her students of this on the mat each and every class. She pumps her fist in the air every time she reads these words by Steven Pressfield, “Once we turn pro, we’re like sharks who have tasted blood, or renunciants who have glimpsed the face of God. For us, there is no finish line. No bell ends the bout. Life is the pursuit. Life is the hunt. When our hearts burst…then we’ll go out, and no sooner.”

You can find her practicing handstands every chance she gets, teaching what she learns in her yoga classes, laughing really hard, pleading with the muse to shine inspiration on her writings and sharing gritty realism with her closest companions.

Amy Andrews

RYT 200

Inspired by her mother to take a yoga class, Amy fell in love with yoga in the start of 2008 while working a high stress job. She didn’t realize at the time she had stepped into a Baptiste Affiliate studio. Baptiste Yoga became her saving grace. Amy found so much rest, restoration, and hope in her classes that she was inspired to teach, yet it wasn’t until almost 6 years later she took the leap of faith after encouragement from a friend and signed up for Level 1 training with Baron in 2014.

Baptiste Yoga broke her heart wide open, and she finally allowed it to lead the way. Immediately after Level 1 training and discovering Baptiste Yoga had brought her back full circle, she knew her life was transformed. Amy attended Level 2 in April of 2014 and has now completed and is Baptiste certified.

As a dedicated practioner, Amy aims to balance effort and ease in her own practice, and brings this into her teaching style, encouraging students to find a sense of playfulness and ease in their lives. You can expect lots of laughter, smiles and even some silliness in class- playing and exploring is a big part of her practice and teaching style. Yoga makes Amy SMILE and SHINE bigger than she ever imagined, and she encourages her students to find their inner shine and take it out into the world.

Eva Lasprogata

RYT 200

Eva began her yoga practice in 2005 after many years of dance training, weight lifting and gym group exercise. She has been a professor of law, human rights and corporate citizenship for over a decade at Seattle University where she is tenured in the business school. For Eva, her left brain stress from legal analysis, teaching and writing never found complete release at the gym. Yoga, however, was like magic, offering Eva a form of right brain bliss and inspired creativity. The practice of asana and meditation quickly became a part of her spiritual growth which draws further insight from Marianne Williamson, Don Miguel Ruiz, John O’Donohue and First Nations’ traditions and worldview. Wanting to share her passion for yoga, Eva entered yoga teacher training in 2008. Teaching for Eva is pure joy! Her classes integrate the physical challenge of the Baptiste power vinyasa flow with her shared life experience, humor and compassion to inspire her students to be their most empowered selves both on and off the mat.

Ben Grieshaber

RYT 200

Ben’s love of music and rhythm has sent him around the country performing for crowds some nights and crickets others! Regardless of the circumstance, he has always been grateful for the chance to travel, explore and play. Years of sleeping in vans and on floors, heavy lifting and heavier drumming created a lot of tension in his body. Seeking some relief from the chronic shoulder pain and migraines, he showed up to a power vinyasa yoga class. Shazam! Like magic, he felt the built up tensions in his body melt and begin to fade away. The feeling he got after every class was invigorating and uplifting!

As this practice continued to make shifts in him, the urge to explore further sent him to various workshops with master instructors such as Bryan Kest, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest and Seane Corn, among many others. It was after attending the Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black that he decided he wanted to share this gift with others through the art of instructing. He spent a year studying closely with Lisa Black and many of the SHAKTI team in the Teacher Mentorship Program. Continuing on the path to teaching he has completed Level I training with Baron Baptiste in 2011, The Art of Assisting with BPYI in 2013 and Level II with Baron Baptiste. He holds accreditation with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.

It is Ben’s intention to guide each class with care and attention focused on healthy alignment while allowing the freedom to find your practice and work intelligently at surfing your own personal edge. His hope is to aid in awakening each and every yogi’s inner passion for life and help bring light to the world one shining heart at a time!

Happiness is contagious… pass it on!
Level 1.5 offers the full Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga sequence. This class moves at a slower pace than a Level 2 class, but the pace is steady. The instructors offer the modified variations for all of the postures, and students are invited to work at their own levels. This class is the perfect next step for people who have completed the Intro series or for practitioners new to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga.
