Liandren first practiced yoga in 2004. As a collegiate athlete, playing volleyball for the University of Washington, she was looking for a healthy balance of physical work and calmness of mind. Her life at the time was hectic and challenging with no ease. Liandren then began practicing Hatha, Bikram and Power Vinyasa with different Master Teachers in the Seattle area. She found that Baptiste Vinyasa yoga offered her a chance to work both physically and mentally.
 
 
Liandren was so inspired from her developing Baptiste practice that she started on a powerful and inspiring journey to self-discovery and awareness through a daily practice of yoga. Liandren has trained under Baron Baptiste for 3 years and currently holds 1000 hours of teaching experience. She creates a flow for students that allow them to experience the power of yoga as it has changed her life. Her classes are physical and yet playful. The connections built from her surrounding yoga community, will forever empower her existence as a teacher. Baptiste Vinyasa has been a transformative practice that ignites her personal growth on and off the mat. Every time Liandren steps in the room to teach it is a new experience and a new personal journey for her students. She teaches yoga so her students can unleash power and confidence from within and take that home and into the world.

Lisa is a nationally recognized Senior Certified Master Baptiste yoga instructor who brings over 20 years of diverse teaching and training experience to all of her work. She has been recognized by Yoga Journal Magazine as one of the “Next Generation’s talented yoga teachers in the country.” She has been assisting and teaching with Baron Baptiste since 2002 as well as presenting at international yoga conferences.

 

Lisa Black is the founder and creative and innovative force behind SHAKTI Vinyasa Yoga studios. With three studios in the Seattle area, Lisa has brought her powerful energy, expertise, and passion to teaching Power Vinyasa Yoga to thousands of people over the past decade. She was the pioneer and leader behind first bringing Baron Baptiste and Baptiste Yoga to the Seattle area in 2002. Lisa passionately shares the light that shines so brightly in her through this practice, her teachings, and her life.

 

With Lisa’s unique interactive style and powerful 'hands on' assists, Lisa has trained hundreds of yoga teachers and has been a catalyst in shaping the local yoga culture in Seattle. Her presence as a respected leader in the yoga community has provided a level of quality and integrity that continues to 'flow' back to each and every student. Her teaching ethics help maintain a strong and heartfelt level of keeping the true essence of this practice alive. Lisa teaches with love, humor, and intelligence. Her challenging and playful method of teaching empowers each person to discover their own potential in their practice and their lives.

 

Lisa lives in Seattle with her two children and is the creative force behind her three yoga studios. Through teaching daily classes, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, conferences, and community events, she continues to touch and inspire thousands of people.

Ariel Ray

Ariel Ray has been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2014 and started practicing in 2012. She started the journey of yoga to lose weight but found a whole new lifestyle, embracing happiness in each moment and the strength to let go of the past. Ariel became a Tier 2: 500 hour Baptiste Certified Teacher in February 2017, after studying with the Baptiste Yoga Institute. Ariel has also completed Shakti Vinyasa Yoga’s Teacher Mentorship Program April 2016. The supportive and encouraging Baptiste Community inspired her to give back through the service of yoga. She also received a BA in Environmental Studies focused in Society and Sustainability from the University of Washington in 2013. Ariel teaches to inspire change and transformation in the body and mind, “Dream, Believe, Succeed”.

Craig Baldwin

Craig first started practicing yoga over 35 years ago. With a physical job working in construction and playing different team sports for recreation, he never made the time to develop a consistent yoga practice. About 14 years ago after having to stop playing the sports he loves mainly due to lingering injuries he came back home to yoga. At some point while practicing 2-3 times a week in different studios for a decade or so, Craig’s practice felt stagnant.

 

To deepen his understanding of the history and philosophy of Yoga, he took teacher training at Be Luminous Yoga. While his intention of taking the training was not to teach, somewhere along the way he became inspired to teach. Teaching Yoga is another evolution in his spiritual growth. Craig brings his life experience, humor, playfulness, LOVE of Yoga and music to each class!

 

When Craig is not in a yoga studio he is doing some sort of construction project, walking his dog, listening to and playing blues, jazz, and kirtan music, enjoying the salt air of Puget Sound on Camano Island, and spending time with friends and family. He especially enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife of 23 years, Nan. Craig looks forward to seeing you on the mat!

Ashish Arora

Ashish grew up in Delhi, India where he briefly practiced yoga in Elementary school and learned Sanskrit in Middle and High school. He did not practice yoga again till he went to a yoga class in January 2015 in his office gym at Nintendo. That's when he realized the possibilities yoga opened up for him, both physically and mentally. The same year he completed his 200-hour Teacher Training at Shakti Vinyasa Yoga, following it up with a 4 month mentoring program. He has also completed Level 1 training with Baron Baptiste and weekend intensives with Anna Forrest (Forrest yoga) and Kino Macgregor (Ashtanga). After spending 16 years of working as an engineer in the Computer and video game industry, he is currently taking a sabbatical and spending his time practicing/teaching yoga and to travel. He loves to practice different styles of yoga, taking about 12 classes/week across Seattle. In the last year, he has practiced yoga in a few places across the world - Delhi, Bali, Rome, Edinburgh, New York, LA, Boston, Miami, DC and more.
 
 
He likes to practice with a smile and tries to bring his fun personality to his teaching. At the same time, you should come in expecting to push your edge. He would like you to be open to the possibilities which open up on and off your mat when you push that edge. A strong example from his personal life being how yoga helped him get over his fear of water by getting him in control of his breath, which then let him explore scuba diving.

 

He strongly believes that happiness cannot be achieved by just tying it to big goals, but it comes from finding something in the current moment to be happy about and to smile about it. Those moments then go on to make your entire life.

Zak Endicott

Zak is a dynamic, motivating human being who stands for freedom and unconditional love. He was born to spread light and to help others turn on their own inner light. Discovering the yoga path opened his mind and heart to growth, healing and transformation; and his life has become an exciting and fulfilling adventure ever since. He believes that today’s yoga movement is the call of people saying we want to heal, live, and love deeply. Together we make a difference. Every yoga class is affirmation that the world can be a peaceful place.

 

Zak is E-RYT 200 with the Yoga Alliance. He completed Level 1 and Level 2 training with Baron Baptiste in 2010 and advanced teacher training with Ana Forrest in 2014. He teaches workshops and retreats locally and internationally, and facilitates many Shakti programs including Shakti’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and Teacher Mentorship Program (TMP). In addition, Zak currently leads Shakti’s Introductory Series on Tuesdays at Shakti Bellevue and on Thursdays at Shakti Seattle.

 

In his personal practice, Zak studies and practices Ashtanga yoga, a more classical form taught traditionally by Sri Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, and Forrest yoga, a powerful and healing, contemporary style created by Ana Forrest. He weaves these two influences skillfully into his classes and programs, combining classical practices, along with modern insight and adaptations. Classes with Zak are fun, potent, and unique.

Basic Level where modifications for the postures are offered. The instructors offer the modified variations for all of the postures, and students are invited to work at their own levels. This class is the perfect next step for people who have completed the Intro series or for practitioners new to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga.
