Next held on Fri, Feb 24, 2017 at 4:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Feb 24, 2017 - Sat Feb 25, 2017
Join Lisa Black and Cynthia Benge, MSW-LMHC for Rising Strong: This powerful weekend combines asana and the groundbreaking work of Dr. Brené Brown, world leading researcher on the power of courage and vulnerability.
We hold ourselves back because we fear not being enough. We let scarcity thinking drive our decisions instead of generosity. We speak more compassionately to others than ourselves. We try to please rather than speaking our truth, fearing we will be judged.
We are capable of doing so much more than we imagine. What if you could learn how to get past the fear, find your worth, and keep rising strong in the face of struggle? Learn to break free of those old patterns of negativity and fear!
Rising Strong™ Will Teach You:
- A process for rising after failure, disappointment, and loss so we can see that it is exactly in those places of struggle that we can rise strong.
- The physics of vulnerability – ten guidelines for rising after a fall
- The power of story in our lives and how stories drive our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors
- The major emotional offloading strategies and how they move us away from our values
- How and why emotional curiosity is the key to rising strong
- How to recognize and capture the stories we make up when faced with struggle
- What it means to rumble with emotions like shame, guilt, anxiety, blame, accountability, resentment, grief, forgiveness, and perfectionism.
- How to write our own daring endings to our tough stories

This fun and inspiring workshop, led by Hannah Losser and Kevyn Hauser of Lucy Blue Jewelry provides moments of contemplation and meditation as you create your own Mala and learn how to use it in a daily practice.
Mala, a Sanskrit word for ‘garland‘, is a set of beads traditionally worn and used for meditation. Malas are made of 108 beads and serve to keep count of the wearer’s affirmations (or mantra) by focusing their awareness and staying mindful in the present moment. As you create, you will have the opportunity to infuse your mala with the power of your intention.
Participants will choose from one of the following gemstones in advance of the workshop:

Join Andreas in a playful exploration of inversions and arm balances, with a focus on the foundations of handstands. Geared towards those just beginning to explore leaving the ground as well as seasoned practitioners, this workshop is designed to give you the tools you need to successfully thumb your nose at gravity and most of all, have fun while doing it. We will explore preparatory poses and move through exercises to develop the strength and flexibility you need to lift off the ground with grace and ease. You will learn how to create stability from your center using bandhas and your core, learn various progressions for inversion work, and play with some transitions between poses. Come ready to learn and play!
